The prince of pop: Andy Warhol

Born in 1928, Andy Warhol was titled the Prince of Pop for his involvement in the pop art movement. Early in his career, he worked as an Illustrator of high profile magazines like Vogue and Harpers Bazaar until in the 60’s he turned his attention to painting everyday objects that were mass produced (coke bottles, soup cans).

Andy Warhol seemed like a very interesting man! He loved cats which is evident from the many, many images he made of them! He also made movies like Sleep which showed a man sleeping for a straight six hours.

Andy died in 1987 after a gall bladder operation.
